St Joseph's Catholic Church

At St Joseph's school we are blessed to have such a beautiful church right next to our school and a very welcoming and thriving parish that serves the Bilton area in the north of Harrogate and is part of the Diocese of Leeds.

Our parish Priest is Father Stephen who is a regular visitor to school with his gorgeous Labrador Pablo! Father Stephen is also the Roman Catholic Officiating Chaplain to the Army Foundation College and is the Leeds Diocesan Director of Vocations. Fr Stephen has over 26 years' experience in parish ministry but has been a priest in the Diocese of Leeds since January 2007.

We enjoy Father Stephen's visits to classes as he is a wealth of knowledge and wisdom on all matter of subjects. His homilies are like no other, we certainly always learn from them, how to be a better Christian.

Our children participate in the Sacramental program in our parish from First Reconciliation in Y3, First Holy Communion in Y4 and Confirmation in Y6. Teachers work with the parish catechists to support our children and families with Sacramental preparation and Mrs Keith (Y5 teacher) is also a parish catechist for First Holy Communion.

The Mini Vinnies and children across school attend the Friendship group for the elderly on a Tuesday afternoon which helps develop the children's confidence and also grows even stronger bonds between school and parish. Parishioners are always welcome in school for Masses, special liturgies and Advent performances.

We are extremely lucky to be part of such a wonderful parish community right on our doorstep!
