PE Curriculum Plan

PE Knowledge and Skills Progression

In P.E, children develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities and are physically active for sustained periods of time. We us the Real PE and Real Gym schemes of work which are based on developing skills and then putting these into practice in games, gymnastics, dance etc. We are also a member of the Harrogate School Sports Partnership and the children have many opportunities to engage in competitive sports and activities and lead healthy, active lives.  At St. Joseph's, we ensure that our pupils become physically confident in a way that supports their health and fitness.  The children also learn values such as respect and fairness whilst they engage in a range of sporting activities. We follow the Real PE scheme ensuring our children learn and develop physical activity skills such as strength, stamina and sportsmanship.

June 2022
Year 3 and 4 children had the great opportunity to attend a mixed football festival at St John Fisher Catholic High School, on their  state of the art Astroturf.  The festival enabled our children to participate in an inter-school competition. The children had a wonderful day and tried their best. They all supported and encouraged each other in their teams.

Year 3/4 'B' Team came in third position.
Year 3/4 'A' Team came in fifth position.

Thank you St John Fisher Catholic High School for a hosting a super festival.
