In Year Four, we have embarked on an exciting journey of exploration into the functions of the human digestive system. Through engaging educational materials and hands-on activities, we've delved into the fascinating processes our bodies undergo to break down food and absorb essential nutrients.

The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary as the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary falls on October 7th. 

Our wonderful year 6 prayer leaders visited our classroom to guide us through the Rosary challenge this month.

 

 

 

 

 

Live Poetry sessions with the National Literacy Trust.

Across three days, KS2 have been involved in live poetry workshops, enjoying gathering ideas for vocabulary and drafting Remembrance poetry  with the National Literacy Trust. Year 4 will be using these ideas to create their own poem on remembrance, followed by artwork. 

 

 

 

 

World Mental Health Day 2023

In year 4 we have been learning about mental health and how to look after our mental well being.  We wrote compliments in a cup to our secret buddy to celebrate World Mental Health Day 2023.

Year 4 celebrated the feast day of St. John Paul The Great by attending school wearing the colours of the Polish flag. Year 4 had an excellent afternoon creating acrostic poems, posters and flags to celebrate their class saint.

Year Four Class Assembly 

Remembrance Day 2023 

 

Year Four brought us on a journey through the alphabet of Remembrance Day. The children showed us their art work, beautifully poignant poems and photographs of their families during the war to remind us of our heroes. Thank you Year Four.

Trip to Leeds City Museum 
This month, Year Four visited the Leeds City Museum as part of our History topic on Ancient Egypt. The children had an interesting workshop where they explored the history of Nesyamun, the process of mummification and the children had the opportunity to mummify a doll! The children also had to opportunity to explore different areas of the museum, a favourite being the Natural World.

 

Year Four Class Assembly!  

 

Year Four sealed our first spring term with an assembly all about Love. They explored what love means to them and how God loves us all no matter what!
