How to Apply for a Place

If your child is due to begin their school career in September, at the start of the next academic year...

Please make contact with the school to arrange a visit the school. This gives you an opportunity to meet key members of staff and have a guided tour of the school given by our Head Students.  If you would like to speak personally to the headteacher, please let us know.

If your child is already of school-age...

We strongly encourage you to contact the school in order to discuss your situation with the headteacher.  You may like to make an appointment to have a look around.

After this, if you would like to apply...

You need to do so via North Yorkshire County Council, which handles all school admissions.  Their policies and procedures are outlined in detail on their website.  Please follow the link below for further details and to apply for a place.

North Yorkshire County Council Admissions Policy

As a 'Voluntary Aided' Roman Catholic Primary School, the school and the Diocese are in full control of our admissions arrangements. This means that our school and its Governing Body make any decisions as regards the selection of pupils who apply for a place at our school.

For a full breakdown of the admissions policy in use for our school, including:

  • the arrangements there are in place for selecting the pupils who apply
  • the oversubscription criteria (how the Local Authority offers places if there are more applicants than places)
  • an explanation of the process parents need to follow if they want to apply for their child to attend our school can be found in our admissions policy.

If your child is due to start school in September 2024, this is the policy that will apply to their application.

Children starting school in September 2024 will be five years old between September 1st, 2024 and August 31st, 2025.

If you have any queries or wish to visit the school before applying for a place, please don't hesitate to telephone and come to visit us.
