Year 6 become history detectives 🔎💜💛
History comes to life for Year 6! 🔎
Year 6 welcomed Catherine from History to Life for a fascinating day exploring the Second World War and its impact on life in Britain.
The children tried Morse code and explored wartime codebreaking, learning about Alan Turing’s work. They investigated the messages behind propaganda posters before creating their own, considering how words and images can influence people’s thinking.
They also examined soldiers’ uniforms, using clues to identify the countries and seasons they were suited to, and practised drills as members of the Home Guard!
With so many opportunities to investigate, question and take part, the day brought our classroom learning to life. Thank you, Catherine, for inspiring our young historians! 💜💛
