Y1 and Y2 Mixed Football Event

Football report

On Wednesday, two teams from Y1 and Y2 played in a football tournament at St. Aidan's. One team came 3rd in their pool and the other team came second. The children displayed excellent teamwork as well as some fabulous football skills, and a hat trick from one of our young players. Thank you to the parents for supporting with transport, and well done to all of the children!

Mrs. Coates and Mr Thompson

The whole of St. Joseph's participated in an Intra School competition on Thursday 30th March. We took part in a pentathlon in the hall and worked in our house teams to earn points. The scores will be published on Monday after the winning house is announced after Collective Worship.  The Y5 Sports Leaders also chose 6 children from every class who displayed the School Games Values: Passion, Teamwork, Determination, Respect, Honesty and Self-Belief. Those children will be notified on Monday in the assembly and they will receive individual stickers and a certificate. It was a brilliant day where the children challenged themselves and had great fun. Well done, St. Joseph's!

Y5 and Y6 Quicksticks Hockey Tournament

A report by Jack and Will

Recently, we have been practising very hard for the Harrogate School Sports Partnership Quicksticks competition.  It was very challenging because many of the schools had players who played for Harrogate Hockey Club.  It was very cold and windy but our teams fought through it.  The matches were close and we were unlucky not to get through.

Our team scored some amazing goals and some unfortunate disallowed goals.  The match scores were: 6 - 3, we lost; 0-0, we drew; 4 - 1, we lost; 5 - 0, we won.

The teams we played against were respectful and kind, we owe them a big thanks.  We also owe massive thanks to the teachers who trained and helped us throughout the competition: Thank you Mrs Coates and Mr Thompson.
